A mining investigation report will address the possible mining hazards identified in the Coal Authority Report or Coal Mining Risk Assessment.
Any mine entries will be physically investigated and, if located. precise locations and shaft dimensions stated together with the ground conditions adjacent to the shaft so that a remedial scheme can be designed.
The depth, condition and coal seam identity of any shallow mineworkings will be determined by drilling and the report will propose suitable remedial works if the mineworkings are within influencing distance of the surface. A Coal Authority Permit has to be obtained before any intrusive works on coalfield sites are undertaken.
This Permit is specific to the proposed investigation and further Permits will be required if remedial work or further investigation is required.
